Sonoma Adventist College (SAC) located in the East New Britain Province of Papua New Guinea has an enrolment of 650 students mostly boarders. It offers diplomas and advanced diplomas in Agriculture, Building, Business, Theology and degrees in Primary and Early Childhood Education. The student population is rich in culture as it is made of diverse groups from the many provinces of Papua New Guinea. Of the 8% attrition rate, 70% are due to a lack of finances. The operational and capital budgets are currently drawn from student fees. However, not all fees are able to be collected. SAC is privileged to contribute to the government of PNG’s strategy to educate the youth for their opportunity to have a better future and contribute to the country’s development.  committed to continuous improvement and focus on empowering individuals through skills training, higher education and provision of basic services within a campus environment.

Currently there are a number of projects that are being developed to cover areas of the College’s requirements for student accommodation and services such as a cafeteria, sports complex, day center for students, agriculture and building complex; IT projects for essential software such as Student Management System and an HR system; and income generating projects such as a bakery and a poultry. Staff housing is in shortage with at least two additional houses required to be built each year.

The project briefs below provide a summary of the projects that are currently in the pipeline.
